We are strengthened for our work in the world through weekly WORSHIP gatherings where we hear God’s Word and share in the Lord’s Supper.
Our schedule of services varies to accommodate the needs of the season. The current schedule can be found in the calendar and at the bottom of each page.
Study & Prayer
Through STUDY AND PRAYER we seek to deepen our relationship with God. We offer weekly Sunday Church School classes during the academic year for elementary children and an annual Vacation Bible School. Our Confirmation program seeks to deepen the faith of our middle school youth. In addition, we offer adult study groups for women and men, a weekly lectionary study group, and seasonal studies with the pastor. Our prayer life is strengthened through our prayer shawl ministry, the prayer chain, and special seasonal devotionals posted on Facebook.
Recent efforts to offer our INVITATION to engage with us in living a life of faith have centered on improving our web presence and enhancing electronic means of communication; but at the same time, we recognize that good old-fashioned personal invitations still work, too!
We know that it can be difficult to live as a disciple, and so part of our ministry focuses on ENCOURAGEMENT. We have an active Meals Ministry group which gets together periodically to cook and freeze meals to distribute as needed to anyone who might benefit from a little extra TLC. Our Eucharistic Ministry team regularly visits our homebound members and takes holy communion to them. And sometimes we just get together to have fun with one another, like for our annual Mardi Gras, church dinners, or a group outing to an IronPigs game.
Giving & Serving
Last but certainly not least, we seek to answer our Lord’s call to love one another by GIVING of ourselves and our resources AND SERVING all God’s children.
We are extremely active in the ministries of the Whitehall Food Pantry and the Whitehall Area Hunger Initiative, including participating in the Snack Pack Pals program (which sends food home with at-risk kids for the weekend), Whitehall Community Meals (free monthly meals for anyone in the community), and hosting the Summer Breakfast Program (which offers free breakfast, enrichment activities, and a take-home lunch for at-risk kids).
Some of our other Giving and Serving activities include making meals at Daybreak (a weekday drop-in center of the Lehigh County Conference of Churches for people living with mental illness or physical disabilities and those struggling with addiction, HIV/AIDS, and the elderly of the downtown Allentown neighborhood), encouraging our members to donate blood through the Miller-Keystone Blood Center, run holiday clothing and gift drives, and maintained a relationship with our partner congregation in Tanzania.
Our mission is to feed people:
body, mind, and spirit.
